Who We Are

Lord & Son Construction was founded in 1975 by Leven D. Lord in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  After completing his Building Construction degree with the University of Florida in 1962, he went on to further his construction management skills through employment with various construction firms for several years, serving in estimating and project management positions. Leven moved to Fort Walton Beach and started his own commercial construction company founded on the principles of quality construction at a fair price: Lord & Son Construction, Inc.

We provide the highest quality construction management services to the customer, with lasting value.  These core values are what Lord & Son is known for throughout the region – highest quality at a fair price, using teamwork to achieve the final result.  These lasting attributes have stayed in place for over 34 years. 

Lord & Son Construction is recognized as one of the premier general contracting firms that also provides outstanding construction management services upon request. We have constructed over 600 commercial and governmental projects. Our current bonding capacity is over $100 million and we are licensed to perform construction in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi. Our strong Southeast presence positions us to respond immediately to the needs of any project in this region. We have strong working relationships with specialty subcontractors and suppliers who stand ready to participate in the estimating and construction process.  By joining the project team early in design, we can offer cost saving value-engineering proposals to our clients, AND provide timely and accurate cost estimating for budgeting purposes.

Lord & Son Construction has received numerous awards for providing quality construction  safely, including: multiple Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Excellence in Construction Eagle Awards for construction innovation and quality and the Gold Level Safety Award; American Concrete Institute (ACI) Award for Significant Concrete Structure; Department of Transportation Outstanding Performance Award, and Army Corps of Engineer Safety Awards.  We attribute our success to the team of professionals we employ, particularly our field superintendents with the expertise to resolve issues or provide solutions quickly in the field to keep costs down and schedules on target.
